The American Construction Toy Museum is a mom-and-pop museum dedicated to preserving the history of building toys in America. Explore LEGO, Lincoln Logs, Erector sets, and more than 200 building toys spanning from the 1800s to today. The ACT Museum is currently the only museum in the United States devoted exclusively to building toys, and just the second of its kind in the country. Discover history, design your own creations in the play space, try your hand with new and vintage sets, and browse the retail shop. The American Construction Toy Museum strives to be the premier institution for educating and preserving former and current three-dimensional building toys in America, as well as promoting the play across all ages.

Board Members

Paul Wellington
Executive Director, Treasurer
Paul Wellington is the founder and Director of the ACT Museum. He has a passion for play and helping people of all ages enjoy construction based toys. Paul is a former LEGO Masters contestant and author of Black Built: History and Architecture in the Black Community. He also has a Master’s degree in architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Currently, Paul works as the Social Media Specialist for the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library.

Mazie Wellington

Mazie Wellington serves as Assistant Director of the ACT Museum, where she champions education, inclusion, and STEAM initiatives. She holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and brings years of experience in teaching and program development. Mazie’s expertise in creating engaging, hands-on learning opportunities drives the museum’s mission to make STEAM accessible and inspiring for all ages and abilities.

Sharonda Robinson
Consultant

Sharonda Robinson, Ph.D., is an Educational Consultant for the ACT Museum, specializing in advisory and grant-writing support. With more than 30+ years of experience in K-12 education, public libraries, and nonprofits, she brings deep expertise to her work. She is also a full-time elementary educator, current consultant and Past President of Labor for Learning, Inc., and the incoming Executive Director of the CTK Samaritan Project, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI.
